Factors Affecting Indoor Radon Levels in Buildings Located in a Karst Area: A Statistical Analysis

In this paper, the averages annual radon concentrations in buildings placed a karst area are analyzed order to understand which factors may affect occurrence of high levels indoor. Statistical analysis on dataset is performed using analytical described by two or three according characteristic measured buildings. The that determine higher terms arithmetic mean (AM) at ground floor (GF) mainly presence sedimentary calcareous rock (SCR) walls and direct attack crawl space as type foundation. At first floors (FF), only SCR showed (in AM) than one found for mixed typology. These outcomes suggest karstic with main construction material foundation, can be considered radon-prone Moreover, study confirms need measure not below GF, but also FF above areas materials including blocks.
